International Day, International School, Bahrain

Before the Spring Break, RVIS held its annual International Day to celebrate the over 50 nationalities that are represented in the school. Families proudly displayed their country’s flag during the Parade of Nations and enjoyed the wonderful cultural displays with traditional wears and delicious food to taste. Singing and dancing filled the gym for over two hours with a Saudi Arabian Band singing traditional songs while students and parents participated in sword dancing.

Service is a cornerstone of the RVIS culture. From the early grades all the way to grade 12, students are encouraged and given opportunities to give back to local and international communities. Every year, the Secondary Students and Teachers spend a week outside of regular classes to step into the world with a bold ambition to make it a better place.

Service projects at Riffa Views International School (RVIS) extends beyond student driven activities. As a cornerstone of the school, RVIS teachers also look for ways to give back to the community and enhance the educational practices in other schools. On Saturday, March 17, teachers from RVIS traveled to the Bangladesh School of Bahrain to lead a group of teachers through several workshops.

Riffa Views International School is continually looking for ways to enhance the learning for its students and teachers. With innovative teaching practices happening in the classroom everyday, and the addition of the LEVEL 5 Innovation Center coming in the 2018-2019 school year, RVIS turns its focus to the current library and has begun to rethink the space and they way it is used.

Riffa Views International School has always been dedicated to providing service to the Bahraini community. RVIS students embark on many service projects throughout the school year and enjoy learning and helping out in the community. Last month a group of 11th grade students visited the Wishes Centre of Special Education to learn more about children with learning differences and meet some of the educators that specialize in the field.

Our Early Childhood program employs developmentally appropriate, holistic approach to teaching. It focuses on academics and social emotional growth. Throughout the program our team works hard to cultivate the inquisitive nature of children to encourage learning in all environments. The Nursery program at RVIS, offers the internationally recognized Reggio Emilia learning approach. The Nursery program is designed using an emergent curriculum where projects and themes are inspired by the children’s own interests.

Elementary School
Offers an experiential curriculum that focuses on the development of the whole child through a wide-range of innovative teaching practices and activities. Teachers at RVIS also have a wide-range of teaching tools to enhance the learning for each student. We believe that children are motivated to learn when they experience success and develop their understanding. They make connections and build their learning around important concepts. In the elementary school student development is nurtured by highly trained, caring, passionate teachers and support staff.
 
 
Middle School
Middle School Curriculum
The RVIS middle school curriculum is relevant, challenging, integrative, and exploratory. It is based on challenging international standards and includes learning activities that create opportunities for students. The curriculum provides direction for what young adolescents should know and be able to do. It supports them to achieve the attitudes and behaviors needed for a full, productive, and satisfying life.
 
 
High School
High School Curriculum
Riffa Views International School is a College Preparatory school based on U.S. and International Standards. Starting in 9th grade, the students are introduced to a rigorous and supportive academic program. It begins to prepare them for the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program in their 11th and 12th grade years. As student wrap up their 10th grade year, they have the opportunity to select from three different graduating paths: a U.S. equivalent diploma, IBDP Certificate, or IBDP Diploma.
