Riffa Views International School (RVIS) is embarking on an ambitious journey to bring a level of innovation that has never been seen in Bahrain or the region. RVIS, in partnership with International Schools Services (ISS), will transform the school into a hub of innovation for the region. The school will be expanding an already existing program that started 18 months ago by ISS and Shekou International School (SIS) in Shekou China that revolutionized education in the region.

In the 2017-2018 school year, RVIS introduced a new Arabic Program to be led by Fuad Al Anzarouti [link]. The vision of the new program is to implement the Ministry of Education Arabic curriculum, while staying true to RVIS’s dedication to innovative teaching practices and its commitment to student learning.

Service is a cornerstone of the culture at RVIS. Through various groups and projects, RVIS students provide service both locally and internationally. Within Bahrain, one of the major projects is the “Riffa Views In Action” (RVIA) Housing Project. Since its inception in 2016, the students at RVIS have organized a majority of the fundraising as well as building contractors. Last year, the RVIS students raised over 11,000 BD, and helped to renovate a house in Riffa that changed the lives of the four families who live there.

Each year the grade five students create cultural projects that helps to shine a spotlight on the diversity and internationalism within the school. Through the projects, the students explore the geography and culture of their chosen country, with the use of multiple sources. Student also have a chance to communicate their findings in a variety to ways through writing, visual representations, and oral presentations.

Sheraz, a grade 7 student at RVIS recently noticed that students and teacher would recycle more if the cafeteria had a recycling center conveniently located near the trash bins. Through the middle school Explode! program [link], where students pursue their interests and passions, Sheraz was given the opportunity to create and carry out a plan to make RVIS more eco-friendly and improve the schools recycling habits.

Our Early Childhood program employs developmentally appropriate, holistic approach to teaching. It focuses on academics and social emotional growth. Throughout the program our team works hard to cultivate the inquisitive nature of children to encourage learning in all environments. The Nursery program at RVIS, offers the internationally recognized Reggio Emilia learning approach. The Nursery program is designed using an emergent curriculum where projects and themes are inspired by the children’s own interests.

Offers an experiential curriculum that focuses on the development of the whole child through a wide-range of innovative teaching practices and activities. Teachers at RVIS also have a wide-range of teaching tools to enhance the learning for each student. We believe that children are motivated to learn when they experience success and develop their understanding. They make connections and build their learning around important concepts. In the elementary school student development is nurtured by highly trained, caring, passionate teachers and support staff.

Middle School Curriculum
The RVIS middle school curriculum is relevant, challenging, integrative, and exploratory. It is based on challenging international standards and includes learning activities that create opportunities for students. The curriculum provides direction for what young adolescents should know and be able to do. It supports them to achieve the attitudes and behaviors needed for a full, productive, and satisfying life.
 
 
High School
High School Curriculum
Riffa Views International School is a College Preparatory school based on U.S. and International Standards. Starting in 9th grade, the students are introduced to a rigorous and supportive academic program. It begins to prepare them for the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program in their 11th and 12th grade years. As student wrap up their 10th grade year, they have the opportunity to select from three different graduating paths: a U.S. equivalent diploma, IBDP Certificate, or IBDP Diploma.
